The highly anticipated sequel is here

Many teens (and adults) from around the globe – 44 countries and counting – have yelled at me for ending Book 1 the way I did. I don’t regret it and I wouldn’t change it. I am so glad my readers wanted to hear what happened in the lives of Jorie, Asher and the Derek/Liam love story. It melts my heart that people want more. So, even though I did not plan to write or release Book 2 until next year, I am pleased to announce that it is here. It was released this morning for Kindle (e-book) on Amazon. It will be released for Nook on Barnes and Noble shortly and both books will come out on i Books in the coming weeks. Additionally, the print paperbacks should be about 4-5 weeks from now and available through most major retailers. The e-book is $4.99 and the paperback price will be $12. The cover – where I introduce my gorgeous cover model Heather Pizzulli – will be different in the paperback version. We have higher concept design/designers on print than for e-book. I cannot wait to hear the feedback and if you aren’t following Mascara_Book on Instagram please do. We have an IG following of close to 1200 and growing everyday. So what mascara brands do I recommend?

It only seems logical that I put my picks for mascara out there since I have created an entire world around this simple cosmetic. I’ve decided to suggest both a blue (for those bold enough to wear it) and a classic black (just in case you’re not feeling fearless).

So blue hair took to the Met Gala. You know the Met Gala is the kind of thing that Asher would get invited to – personally by Anna Wintour herself nontheless. She didn’t make it into this FashionStyle piece about Miley Cyrus and Nicole Richie though. Bummer. Maybe next year. Wonder what the theme will be…

We sold a book in Germany!

We’ve seen love in over 20 countries and now sales are extending beyond the US. We know readers have been engaged with the book’s blog all over the world but today was our first legitimate sale overseas. We’ve gone global!

A message to my readers…

One hundred and eighteen total pounds (pounds!) of my own books sit in my apartment today. That is the point where you pinch yourself. The gratitude is high.

I spent four consecutive hours last night signing, stuffing, sealing, stamping and addressing. My living room is buried underneath bubble mailers, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thank you to everyone who donated so much as a dollar to this project. Who read the book or shared the book or reviewed the book. Otherwise, I’d still be here with just my notebook and a pen.

Books will be showing up at people’s houses this week. I ask that you kindly take a moment to review it on GoodReads or Amazon once you’ve read it. I need the organic growth that only good word of mouth can produce.

As for future plans, I will pen a Mascara Book 2 at some point this year, likely in the Fall. For now I am working on a new book called Color Inside which I hope to finish by August. I also have plans to start a kids book (title withheld) sometime in between. With a little luck, my subsequent projects won’t require crowd sourcing because Penguin Random House will call me this year.

Lastly, I am sending a copy of the book to a few special teen idol celebrities. Keep your fingers crossed that someone gets caught reading it on camera. That’s all it takes is one cameo in the hands of T Swift.

Wait, their names don’t start with “M.” Man, I would be thrilled if they were pledging MASCARA. Apparently, they’re just going to Coachella and now going to Coachella requires blue hair. I don’t get it, but I like it. They say it’s “inspired by mermaids” but we know what that is secret language for. Well, my own blue tresses look commonplace now! So about being psychic… It seems everyone is dying their hair blue. Ahem. I know someone who did that months ago, then wrote a book about a sorority whose mantra is #albluealways. Then I told you it was becoming like the Illuminati. Then I referenced Beyoncé and Jay and their little tot Blue Ivy. I’ll let you be the judge…

I think everyone is pledging Mascara, even Amber Rose

It’s like the #Illuminati — only without all the conspiracy. Come to think of it, aren’t Beyonce and Jay Z supposed members who named their daughter “Blue” Ivy? It’s all coming together now. Everyone is going blue. My hope would be that it is for Autism and then maybe, a couple, are really sprinkling Mascara isms around the world. Check out Amber Rose’s new look.
